boat trip* this morning to Murano Island for an up-close demonstration on how Murano glass is made. Next, return to Venice and visit charming St. Mark's Square, the lively hub of the city's activity and events for more than a millennium. A local expert will guide you on a walking tour of the area featuring St. Mark's Basilica, the Doge's Palace, the Bridge of Sighs, and the Clock Tower with its famous Moors. This afternoon, lead your family n a discovery of Venice, scavenger hunt style - we provide the map and clues, you provide the sense of adventure! You may choose to see the city by gondola - there is no better way to experience the magic of Venice than on a serenatded gondola ride through its canals! Today, breakfast will be included.

Climb aboard the trendy Eurostar train this morning and head to Florence, the spectacular catal of Tuscany. After a short lesson on the local language, discover the great city of Florence wth the help of a local expert! View the Palazzo Veccio and the Curch of Santa Croce, where Michelangelo and Galileo are buried. Parties of three wil be accommodated in Venice, Florence and Rome in a triple room consisting of two beds and a sofa bed or rollaway. Parites of four will be accommodated in Rome and Florence in a two bedded room with a sofa bed or rollaway. In Venice, parties of four will be accommodated in two separate rooms.
To complete your vacation, we include roundtrip airport-to-hotel transfers when purchasing Collette airfare with your tour. If you have arranged for your own air, we are pleased to provide you the option of purchasing these transfers. Please note that all transfers will leave at pre-scheduled times. |
*On occasion, due to inclement weather, your boat trip to Murano Island may be substitued with a visit to a local glass factory in Venice.
Please note that most that most shops and businesses in Italy are closed on Sundays and on national/religious holidays.
Vatican Museums are not available on Sundays.
Days of featurees are interchangeable.
This tour includes moderate physical activity. Walking tours, as well as walking slightly longer distances, up stairs or on uneven walking surfaces should be expected. Some of the most unique sightseeing can mean accessing locations that restrict motorcoaches, especially in historic areas. For your comfort, we recommend brining walking shoes. If you require a walker or wheelchair, or have difficulty walking, you may not be able to access some of these areas and may want to consider an alternate Collette vacation.
